Shahid Ahmed

Co-Founder, Major League Tapeball State Director, Michigan Board of Directors, U.S. Tapeball

Shahid Ahmed got his Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from the NED University of Engineering & Technology in Karachi, Sindh, Pakistan. After that, he went on to get a Master’s degree in Science and Mechanical Engineering from Wayne State University in Detroit.

 

Ahmed’s interest in cricket began around the 1980s. He played club cricket for FaskurRehman CC & Jehangir West CC. Ahmed also played for Inter University from 1981 till 1986, and Patrons Trophy from 1982 till 1986.

 

In 1992, Shahid Ahmed became a Member of the Great Detroit Cricket Club, where he’s still a member to date. Later, he went on to become a Founding Member of the Michigan Cricket Association in 2001 and continued to serve as a Chairman in the Association for 10 years.

 

In addition to all of that, Shahid Ahmed is a Member of the Pakistan Student Association in Wayne State University, a Board Member in the Pakistan Association of America (where he served as President in the years 2016-2017), and a Board Member of the Islamic Association of Greater Detroit. His achievements span far beyond that, with Ahmed also pioneering the Diversity Cup and Champions Cup, as well as being the President of Global Sports Inc.
